The development of multimodal transport in Russia in the new technological conditions

JATS‑XML (OAI)In the article the authors substantiate the characteristic process of expansion of the Russian market of transport services, when new methods and technologies of cargo transportation are used, the place and role of transport in the economy is modified. The concept of «multimodal transportation» and «multimodal transportation system» with the management of traffic flows, the use of different modes of transport on the basis of the principles of optimization of traffic schedules, when all modes of transport are controlled from one center, which is responsible for the cargo and its delivery. The necessity of using the system of multimodal transport by transport enterprises of the real sector is justified on the basis of the selected advantages for the effective development of transport services with regard to innovation. The activity of transport enterprises of the real sector using multimodal transport and offering various types of transport services to the population, whose basic offices are located in major transport centers: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, is analyzed. On the basis of the identified innovative potential of transport enterprises of the real sector, a set of measures for its implementation for the formation of a unified transport system in the conditions of Informatization is proposed.
