The integration processes taking place within the EAEU and the desire to harmonize the macroeconomic policy of the member states are designed to ensure the sustainable development of the association in the context of turbulence in the global economy, increasing protectionism and shrinking global trade. The Strategic Guidelines for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, which have been adopted for implementation, are a roadmap of measures to achieve the goals of integration.
The purpose of the article is to analyze the intermediate results of currency integration within the EAEU.
The following methods were applied in the course of the research: analysis (study of EEC program documents on integration within the EAEU), synthesis (formation of a cross-section of the results of existing studies on the subject of the article), logical method (study of the logic of the development of integration processes within the EAEU), statistical analysis (of macroeconomic indicators to identify the current trends).
The results of the study include the analysis of the main macroeconomic indicators of the EAEU member countries, consolidation of the scientific community's views on the studied problematic and identification of the main reasons preventing the deepening of integration processes within the EAEU.
The following conclusions were made on the basis of the conducted research:
1) Both Russian and foreign scientific community do not have a unified opinion on the issue of currency integration within the EAEU.
2) Despite the developed comprehensive measures to deepen integration within the EAEU, it has a multidirectional nature.
3) The main reasons are geopolitical risks, differences in approaches to the introduction of a single currency, and significant economic disparities between the countries.
4) Existing trends show the growth of settlements in national currencies within the EAEU.
