Methodological approaches to assessing financial and technological innovations in the Islamic banking system

Research objective – identifying the most credible and reliable evidence base to bridge the methodological gap between innovation development in Islamic-type institutions and the harmonization of Shariah principles

Research tasks – formation of scientific hypotheses integrating financial and technological innovations with the objectives of Shariah; development of a hybrid model for quantitative assessment and forecasting of the strategic development of the Islamic banking system; testing of the hybrid model based on GIFT report indicators; formation of individual strategic directions for the development of Islamic banking in the financial and technological environment, taking into account the predominant influence of innovations.

Methodology. The essence of the methodology lies in the transition from static analysis (surveys, indices) to dynamic modeling, which allows for the creation of nonlinear forecasts of the interaction between dependent and independent variables. The methodology enables empirical confirmation of the most suitable hypothesis interpreting the direction of modernization of the Islamic banking sector in a dynamic innovation environment and building scenarios for its further development.

Results. The results of the study make a significant contribution to the development of the methodological foundation of the FinTech industry, considering the possibility of conducting regular stress tests, selecting priority tools for adaptation to market trends, and improving predictive accuracy and practical applicability in the activities of Islamic banks.

Conclusions. The obtained conclusions can be used for: improving regulatory approaches to Islamic banking, forming international standards for the financial and technological ecosystem, and developing investment programs for regions with high innovative potential.
