Financial literacy as an instrument to counter the shadow economy

JATS‑XML (OAI)In order to optimize the scale of the shadow economy, first of all, it is necessary to study the causes of its occurrence. The article discusses the origins of the shadow economy, the stages of its development. Accepted forms of the shadow economy are usually divided by the subjective (i.e. motivated by conscious choice) and objective (that is, no choice) factors that dominate in them. The statistical data showing the emerging positive shifts in this direction are given, and, first of all, solutions should be sought through improving the financial literacy of the population.
