CLASSIFICATION OF INNOVATIONS IN THE HOTEL BUSINESS

The purpose of this article is to offer a refined synthesized classification of innovations in the hotel business, based on a critical analysis of scientific literature. Particular attention will be paid to the specific aspects of innovations in small hotel enterprises, which are understood as accommodation facilities with a room stock of up to 50 units. Methods: the study is based on the study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the classification of innovations, uses the methods of abstraction, content analysis. As part of the study, a critical review of scientific publications was conducted, offering various divisions of innovations into types and classifications of innovations in the hotel business. To increase the coverage of various useful data, the authors' points of view, which may include the hotel business, classifications for broader areas are considered: tourism, hospitality, as well as for service activities in general. As a result of the study, the author’s classification of innovations used at hotel enterprises was proposed. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that it provides owners of small hotel enterprises with an in-depth understanding of the classification of innovations. This can contribute to the effective adaptation of new solutions in their activities. The article offers a vector for further empirical and theoretical research in this area. As a conclusion, it can be noted that the authors attempt not only to contribute to the theoretical base, but also to offer practical tools for enterprises seeking to introduce innovations and improve their business models.
