Decentralized finance provides a new way to conduct complex financial transactions. Using the potential of the blockchain allows you to switch to decentralized transaction registries, which eliminates the limitations that intermediaries have. Decentralized finance provides alternative financial methods and tools that can reduce a range of risks, which is especially important in the unstable state of modern financial markets.
The analysis of the literature conducted in the article indicates that the use of decentralized methods for real financial processes is at a low level. Nevertheless, the current decade has seen the rapid growth of decentralized financial startups. The main constraint on the development of new technologies is the insufficient conceptual elaboration of this method. An integrated and multifactorial approach is used in the study of decentralized finance and projects based on them.
As a result of the study, the conceptual foundations of decentralized finance were clarified, taxonomies were identified and classified, and the main methods of evaluating decentralized financial projects were considered. The article shows that a number of tactical decisions made during the development of decentralized finance caused strategic changes in the financial system. Among such changes is the use of technology, which is at the heart of smart contracts.
