The article proposes a methodology for assessing threats to the economic security of aninsurance company with the allocation of indicators characterizing threats arising from the content ofthe insurance activity itself. A special place of threats related to insurance activities in the system ofensuring the economic security of an insurance company has been identified, which further affectsthe company's risk management system. Ranking and the method of expert assessments are used asmethods. To carry out the ranking, a list of the main threats to the economic security of the insurancecompany has been compiled. The ranking of standard and industry-specific threats to economicactivity that affect the economic security of an insurance company was carried out to improve thequality of threat management of the company. The method of expert assessments was used to identifythe most significant types of threats and data analysis to form a list of types of shadow activities inthe insurance industry. The author's methodology for assessing threats to the company's economicsecurity includes four stages. The stages are developed taking into account the achievement of thepurpose of the article – the development of a methodology for assessing threats to economic securityfor an insurance industry company with an emphasis on specific threats associated with insuranceactivities. As a result of the work carried out, critical threats to the economic security of the company,the nature of the relationship between internal and external threats and the priority of internal threatshave been identified.
