The article deals with the need to ensure economic security through the introduction of green technologies and sustainable socio-economic development. The importance of taking into account modern environmental needs and limits of economic security in the development of the economy was emphasized. Statistical data on air pollution in Russia, measures taken to reduce harmful emissions and their sources of financing were analyzed. Modern tools of green financing are considered. The changed approach of the state to green finance is described: until recently, it solved problems with the environment itself, now responsibility is shared or fully assigned to the owners of enterprises, and the role of the state is reduced to regulation and the creation of incentives for responsible green investment. A method for calculating economic security by reducing harmful emissions is proposed and indicators that characterize air pollution are developed. Factors influencing sustainable socio-economic development are revealed.
