JATS‑XML (OAI)The relevance of the research topic is due to the need to study the social consequences of the activities of large agricultural enterprises. The purpose of the study is to characterize the impact of large agricultural enterprises on the inclusive development of the agro-industrial complex of the Moscow region. The paper uses methods of logical analysis of scientific literature, comparative and statistical analyses based on quantitative data. The results show that the inclusive development of agro-industrial enterprises is considered by domestic and foreign researchers as one of the factors of ensuring sustainable development. Large agricultural enterprises have changed the structure of the agro–industrial complex, which has a two-layered character - small and medium-sized enterprises and large agricultural holdings. The main conclusions are that the programs of inclusive development of the largest agricultural holdings in the Moscow region do not always contribute to the growth of the quality and standard of living of the population of the territories of presence. Agricultural holdings, unlike small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, increase the risks of monopolization of agricultural markets by suppressing the competition of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises. Their participation in the social development of the territories of presence is more aimed at creating a positive image of the organization. The creation of socially oriented ecosystems around agro-industrial holdings can become a model for solving this problem in the medium term.
