The most attractive destinations for domestic tourism are small cities with a population of no more than 100 thousand people. But many hotel owners in such cities do not provide hotel services at the required level and meet the requirements for accommodating guests. This is due to economic, cultural and social factors. This problem can only be solved by carrying out the renovation process, which is often carried out incorrectly, which leads to low competitiveness, loss of profit and deterioration in the tourist development of the city.
The purpose of the study is to develop mechanisms for increasing the attractiveness of hotels in small cities based on the implementation of renovation programs. The methods used in the article are methods of data analysis and synthesis, as well as comparative analysis. As a result of the study, it was concluded that almost all hotels in small towns in Russia have a number of problems associated with the need for renovation, namely a long period of time between renovations, lack of investment, and improper delegation of responsibilities. Therefore, hotel owners should adhere to a mechanism for developing and implementing renovation projects that will make their work easier and help distribute responsibilities.
The practical significance of this article is multifaceted: it not only points out problems and errors in the renovation process, but also helps to solve them. This work serves as a resource for strategic planning through a developed mechanism that will increase the efficiency of resource use, prevent risks, and also increase the life cycle of the enterprise.
