Methodology for evaluating green banking instruments in emerging markets

This article examines the tools of socially responsible and environmentally-oriented investment in the focus of ESG-assessment. An attempt has been made to highlight the features of various green banking instruments, such as green bonds, social bonds, sustainable bonds. An overview of the most popular, according to the authors, approaches used in emerging markets is presented. In the process of comparative analysis, a conclusion was made about the specifics of the assessment of various kinds of instruments from the point of view of identifying general and specific assessment parameters. The conclusion is made about the need for an integrated and voluminous approach with the use of an extended methodology for assessing sustainable investments in relation to developing markets.
