METHODOLOGY FOR ASSESSING THREATS TO THEECONOMIC SECURITY OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY

The article proposes a methodology for assessing threats to the economic security of an
insurance company with the allocation of indicators characterizing threats arising from the content of
the insurance activity itself. A special place of threats related to insurance activities in the system of
ensuring the economic security of an insurance company has been identified, which further affects
the company's risk management system. Ranking and the method of expert assessments are used as
methods. To carry out the ranking, a list of the main threats to the economic security of the insurance
company has been compiled. The ranking of standard and industry-specific threats to economic
activity that affect the economic security of an insurance company was carried out to improve the
quality of threat management of the company. The method of expert assessments was used to identify
the most significant types of threats and data analysis to form a list of types of shadow activities in
the insurance industry. The author's methodology for assessing threats to the company's economic
security includes four stages. The stages are developed taking into account the achievement of the
purpose of the article – the development of a methodology for assessing threats to economic security
for an insurance industry company with an emphasis on specific threats associated with insurance
activities. As a result of the work carried out, critical threats to the economic security of the company,
the nature of the relationship between internal and external threats and the priority of internal threats
have been identified.
