JATS‑XML (OAI)This article is devoted to the description and analysis of opportunities inherent in the processes of digitalization, the concepts of «smart city» and «big date» are investigated. The paper discusses the concepts that guide information technology to sustainable development, to improve the quality of life, both current and future generations of citizens, solving social problems, achieving sustainable industrial development and economic growth. The relevance of the study is based primarily on the serious influence of modern technological development on all aspects of economic, social and production activities. In this regard, the use of modern technologies already gives economic entities a serious foundation for modifying internal management and production processes and the formation of new targets with regard to digitalization.
