ENSURING THE ECONOMIC SECURITY OF THE ARCTICZONE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The article examines the system of economic security in relation to the Russian Arctic territories
and examines the concept of «economic security» in the context of the region's economy. The
purpose of this work is to review and evaluate the current system of economic security in the Arctic
zone, as well as its development prospects. The article considers the conditions of interest the Russian
Arctic foreign powers, described the factors of attractiveness of the Russian Arctic to further its
development, analyzed the errors and problems of development of the Russian Arctic, presents directions
for improving the system of ensuring economic security in the Arctic zone. Taking into account
the considered factors of the region's attractiveness, the desire of countries that do not have
direct access to this territory to consolidate and expand their geopolitical, economic and military
influence in the Arctic circle is quite understandable. In this regard, the paper presents a number of
coordinating measures aimed at normalizing the economic state of the region and ensuring the economic
security of the Arctic as a whole.
