Small and medium business in a changing environment: adaptation mechanisms and regional features

JATS‑XML (OAI)The article analyzes the parameters and criteria that allow assessing the degree of adaptability of a small and medium-sized business entity to the conditions of economic shocks. A comparative analysis of the level of survival of small and medium-sized enterprises in various regions of the Russian Federation is carried out in the context of their survival. The degree of riskiness of entrepreneurial activity is compared, taking into account the sectoral affiliation of the business entity. One of the options for a mechanism is considered that allows adapting the activities of a small or medium-sized enterprise to external conditions that change under the influence of economic shocks.
