Changing the functions of regional government bodies in the implementation of esg policy

The implementation of the ESG policy contributes to solving a number of tasks of ensuring economic security in accordance with the current strategic planning documents. Despite the successful implementation of projects at the federal and regional levels aimed at developing the environmental component of sustainable development, the level of systematic organization of the implementation of ESG policy in regional government bodies is insufficient. The purpose of the article is a qualitative assessment of the state of ESG policy in the subjects of the Russian Federation and the formation of proposals for its development based on clarifying the functions of regional government and business bodies that promote ESG policy. To conduct the research, the author used materials from the analytical agency «Expert RA», publications of scientists researching the implementation of ESG policy, regulatory documents at the federal and regional levels. In the course of the work, such methods as analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization were used. As a result, proposals have been formulated to adjust the content of the functions of individual divisions of regional government bodies in order to establish targeted responsibility, which will identify those responsible for achieving key performance indicators of this process.
