Risk management and safety of transport enterprise of the real sector: the Russian experience

In the article the authors systematize different methodological approaches to the study of the nature and role of risk: objective, subjective, causal approaches. The article reveals the essence of the concept of «risk» as an economic phenomenon, taking into account the causal relationship between exogenous and endogenous causes and the probability of various economic losses in the activities of agents in the real sector that violate the safety of their functioning. The essence of the «transport enterprise risk» is presented as the occurrence of a probable event, manifested in the uncertainty caused by exogenous and endogenous causes with different results of the functioning of the real sector entities. The interrelation between such categories as «uncertainty», «risks of transport companies» and «losses» is established. The necessity of forming an effective risk management system and ensuring the security of domestic transport enterprises using multimodal transport is substantiated. The classification of risks of the transport company on the basis of detection of their key reasons is offered. The key methods of minimization of risks taking into account innovative development are revealed: innovative methods of economic policy planning; identification, assessment and forecasting of different types of risks; insurance, diversification and hedging of risks; combination of transportation within various multimodal schemes. The article presents the domestic experience of risk management and security on the example of the transport enterprise «Business lines»,"SDEK" and "PEK".
