Digitalization of the economy has become the main trend and driver of development in recent
years. The medical services market, as an important part of the economy, is also included in the
digitalization process. Currently, the medical services market has entered the stage of digital
transformation, when the principles and foundations of the organization of the functioning of the
medical services market in the digital economy are undergoing fundamental changes. At the same
time, many researchers note the low intensity of transformation processes, which is due to the
specifics of the medical services market and the medical service itself. The purpose of the presented
article is to analyze the problematic issues of digital transformation of the medical services market
and search for effective tools for further digital transformation. The methods used are methods of
comparative analysis and synthesis, and a systematic approach. The paper analyzes the state of the
medical services market, shows that the medical services market occupies one of the most important
places in the structure of the services market and at the same time has a number of features. The
publication activity of Russian authors on the topic of digitalization of the medical services market is
analyzed. Based on a comparison with other segments of the services market, the stage of
digitalization of the medical services market has been determined. The main problems hindering the
further development of the medical services market are identified, and the direction of its
development based on the ecosystem approach is proposed.
