Analytical overview of the Russian plastic card market: problems and features

Nowadays, it is less and less common to find an enterprise whose employees receive wages at the cash desk of the accounting department, the funds go to the employees’ payment cards. However, less than half of working citizens in Russia use such «salary cards» as the main ones, preferring to use other payment cards. In this article the author will try to figure out why this is happening, analyze the classification of bank cards and give a definition of the term «payroll card». The object of this research is the payment card market of Russia, the subject is the salary cards in the Russian Federation. This work aims to clarify the classification of bank cards, as well as the definition of the term "payroll card" and the indication of its distinctive features.
